Coronary artery disease

Coronary artery disease has been a leading cause for cardiac morbidity and mortality during the last decades. While there has been a substantial decrease in the incidence of new myocardial infarctions in the US only a slide decrease has been observed in Europe. Primary and secondary prevention of coronary artery disease therefore remains a major issue in health care.
