Acute myocardial infarction

The onset of an acute myocardial infarction is commonly associated with severe and prolonged symptoms (in case of patients with known coronary artery disease therapy-refractory symptoms occur even after submission of anti-angina drugs), which may be similar to symptoms of angina pectoris, but commonly more intense. The indication for a lysis-therapy is based on typical ECG-findings. Nevertheless, even atypical ECG-findings are possible or the diagnosis of an acute myocardial infarction is diagnosed only on the basis of certain serological enzyme-determinations.
