In chronic stages of myocardiac infarction it has to be determined if there is a resulting contraction disturbance as hypokinesia. In this case there is enough vital myocard in the infarction area, an invervention can be indicated. If an akinesia is present additional diagnostic procedures can detect remaining vital myocard.
At presence of dyskinesia a revascularisation does not lead to functional improvement, usually.
