1. Myocardial biopsy
The myocardial biopsy is not a routine-step in diagnosed congestive heart failure. Biopsy-samples should be collected in cases of worsening of congestive heart failure, in case of suspected cytostatic-induced cardiomyopathy, but also in case of suspected rejection after hearttransplantation.

2. New techniques such as fast cardiac computer based tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, are likely to play a growing and more significant role in assessing cardiac morphology and function non-invasive manner.

3. In case of planned cardiac transplantation the diagnostic procedures are completed by serologic examinations, in order to rule out infectious diseases etc.
