  • Systolic Hypertension
  • Hyperlipidemia
  • Diabetes Mellitus
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Cigarette Smoking
  • Physical Inactivity
  • Family History of PAD
  • Obesity

Microangiopathy is a frequent problem, especially in patients with diabetes.
Furthermore a special type of diffusely calcifying arteriosclerosis (media sclerosis Mönckeberg) is mainly seen in patients with diabetes and/or renal failure.
