1. Recanalization by thrombolytic substances
2. Improvement of flow conditions by normalizing perfusion
    pressure
3. Improvement of flow characteristics by rheologic measures
4. Prevention of secondary infarcts by platelet inhibitors and
    anticoagulation
5. Prevention and therapy of complications such as cerebral edema
6. Treatment of the heart to improve pump condition during the
    period of damaged autoregulation.
